Heart Sutra

Of all of the Sutras, this, the Heart Sutra holds a very special place in my heart. I started practicing Shakyo as part of my Zen practice. First copying in traditional Kai script and then after discovering Nadja's wonderful book, I started to concentrate on using Seal Script for my copies.

This is a whole new experience and one that takes every ounce of energy and concentration I have to brush. It has also had some very positive effects on my other arts practice. The symmetry of Seal Script and the inherent way that it is both balancing and a vehicle of freedom in expression that translates to other media is just one more positive note of expression that this form enables one to achieve.

Through Nadja's book I have been able to experience this dearly loved Sutra in a whole new way. There is no way that I could think her enough for taking the time and energy to bring this work to those that need it the most.
