After attending a workshop of Heart Sutra copying, I was so enthusiast that I put myself to work on this rather large Sutra copy. I can still remember the joy of brushing these beautiful characters with my newly acquired four treasures: precious Japanese rice paper, soft and yellowish, a Taiwanese ink stick, my brand-new ink stone with a wave pattern and a brush of mixed weasel and sheep-hair.

When writing seal script the tip of the brush moves in the middle of the stroke, let’s say one pointedly without faults, and this strengthens brush and spirit.
